LeBron Likes His New Team
The Cleveland Cavaliers. Plagued with a horrendous record over the past stretch of games, Cleveland was desperate for a big morale boosting miracle. Luckily, they got just that twice in the same week.
Firstly, the trades. This past week was the trade deadline, and the Cavs roster was not doing it for LeBron. Tensions have been high, and with stories leaking to the media about the atmosphere in the locker room it was time for a change. Cleveland moved six players in total on Thursday while acquiring four. They were able to shift Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Channing Frye, Iman Shumpert, Dwayne Wade, and Derrick Rose. In return they got Larry Nance Jr., Jordan Clarkston, George Hill, and Rodney Hood. One miracle down, one to go. On Sunday the Cavs faced the Celtics on the same day that Paul Pierce was getting his jersey retired. It was meant to be the biggest night in Paul Pierce’s life, and LeBron stole it from him. What was the second miracle the Cavaliers received? How about in the first game with their almost entirely new lineup back, against arguably the best team in the east, the won! Not only won, but LeBron had one hell of a game.
The Cavs looked young, fast, and healthy on Sunday. With their old lineup there was no way they would beat the Celtics, but with a new look anything is possible. Expect Cleveland to slowly rise as they fall into their groove with the new players.
